7-10 days: The standard treatments clear the infection in 1-2 days, but symptoms take longer to clear up. Discharge or painful urination usuallly start improving within 2 days, can take 7-10 days to be gone entirely. If things aren't clearing up this soon, return to your doctor to be rechecked. Don't resume sex until at least 7 days have passed, all symptoms are gone, and your partner(s) have been treated.
