A doctor has provided 1 answer

Menstrual cramps: Regular periods at age 18 may sometimes involve a "double ovulation" which promotes heavier lining secondary to higher estrogen levels, and cramping may be accentuated when the estrogen level decreases prior to actual bleeding. This may just be an isolated event, but consult your healthcare professional if this continues.
