My poop had spots, it something to be concerned about?

Dr. Alvin Lin answered

Poop w/spots: So your poop had spots. Unfortunately, without more detail, it's difficult to determine what's going on. Stool consistency reflects what you've eaten, so it's softer w/more fiber. Undigested food is often visible eg corn. Definite red flags (worrisome issues) would be black tarry, ribbon flat or pencil thin stool (think Play-Doh effect). Maroon (not 5) or reddish colored stool is also bad news.
