Endometriosis pain: Painful intercourse, particularly with deep penetration and if consistent, is strongly suggestive of endometriosis. No symptom is completely predictive, so this should not be taken as a diagnosis yet. Talk with a good obg or specialist re, who can ask further questions and do the appropriate exams; you'll get an answer pretty quickly

Endometriosis common: Endometriosis is far and away the most common cause of female pelvic pain. The list of possible causes is just not that long in most patients. Pain during or after intercourse should be evaluated by your gynecologist. Other causes include pid (pelvic inflammatory disease, a bacterial infection of the uterus/tubes/ovaries) but usually there is a low grade fever and some extra vaginal discharge.
