Yes: It is fairly a safe procedure. It also prevents infection.

Circumcision: is mostly a cosmetic issue, however sometimes needs to be performed due to certain conditions (i.e. phimosis - when the foreskin can not be pulled over the head of the penis and causes pain/swelling).
