Pills aren't equal: Some birth-control pills are better at getting rid of acne compared to others. Birth control pills containing Norethindrone don't do much to stop acne. A better choice would be a pill with Drospirenone such as Yaz (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol). Do some research on the pill you are on and ask your doctor. You might also consider seeing a dermatologist. Best Wishes!

Not all BCP help: Not all BCP help acne. The progesterone in the pill is the key. It needs to be a low androgen progestin to help. General tx of acne includes antibacterial facial wash twice a day. Daily application of antibacterial lotion once or twice a day (benzoyl peroxide most common). Also use of topical retinoid (retin a (tretinoin) cream) at bedtime can be helpful. See your healthcare provider for more info.
