Here are some ...: Urethritis may incite a premature urge to void so the patient may void oftener than usual; after treated, urethritis-related urgency subsides, but not OAB-related. Although OAB generates urge to void, the patient still usually can make to bathroom to void; bladder spam is usually referred to the occurrence of uninhibited bladder contraction incited by catheter or poor central nerve control, etc.

Sometimes I wake up with a very firm erection that won't go away for quite a while. Is this because my bladder is full in the mornings when I wake up and it is pressing on my penis making it firm?

No: It is normal for males to have erections when the are asleep. Assuming you are not taking any prescription medications. One medication, trazodone, has frequently been associated with erections that will not go away (called priapism) (can happen with other drugs too). This is a urologic emergency and can result in permanent damage. If this just happens when your asleep, it's normal.

Depends: To be enrolled in a clinical trial for bladder cancer, all other standard forms of therapy must have been tried first. These are therapies that have been tested and are the standard of care.Once these treatments have failed, then a clinical trial is then an appropriate next step.

Depends: Since I do not know whether you are a male or female. For older men: cause mostly benign prostatic hypertrophy with or without cancer. For women cystocele and weakness of the muscles. These can be corrected by surgery with good results. If there is a prostatic or bladder mass, then biopsy under ultrasound or ct scan guidance is indicated to rule out cancer, urologist should be consulted immediatel.

As required: But the more often you empty it likely you will result in smaller and smaller volumes. As your blotter volume diminishes the problem will likely increase.
