Ankle pain: Swelling and pain >2 yrs is not normal. You describe pain as starting in the ankle and going up the leg to butt. If it was a L4-5 disc it would start in back/butt and shots down into the leg also swelling is not usually associated with a disc at L4-5. You have CRPS go and see a Pain doctor for a full evaluation.
