If it is herpes: you should see little pinpoint blisters on a red base and there should be a tingling, burning, or itching. If not I would see a dermatologist for clear diagnosis

Confirmation tests: Generally genital herpes can be diagnosed by visual appearance by a trained physician but if there is any debate, a herpes culture can be taken with a swab but these notoriously will say a person doesn't have herpes even if they do. There are also blood tests to check for herpes virus --one test checks for recent exposure and the other for exposure longer than 6 months ago. Tests can be costly tho
