Yes.: Genital herpes can be transmitted by oral sex and can be caused by HSV I or HSV II. The transmission of herpes can occur in the absence of lesions and during asymptomatic shedding.

But most people are immune carriers of type 1 and many are also immune to type 2 because of previous infections.

Does breastfeeding influence women's sex drive?

Dr. Kevin Windisch

Yes: The horomones that regulate breast milk production can result in dry and atrophic vaginal tissue. This can markedly decrease the sex drive. Exhaustion from around the clock feedings also can have a dramatic impact on sex drive.

Why are more women diagnosed with chlamydia then men?

Screening.: Women 24 and younger, as well as women with risk factors for a sexually transmitted infection (such as new/multiple sexual partners, unprotected sex) should be routinely screened for chlamydia infection. There is no screening recommendation for men. Because of this routine screening of women, more women are diagnosed with chlamydia infection than men.

Also, in men chlamydial infection is usually asymptomatic, whereas in women it may be manifested by an unusual vaginal discharge that leads to a physician visit. Also, chlamydial screening is mandatory in pregnant women, so that also contributes to increased likelihood of positive chlamydial tests in women vs. men.

What might cause green coloration on my vagina when using nordette (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel)?

Vaginal discharge: Sometimes vaginal discharge has a green hue to it. Typically it's not a sign of infection so long as you don't have any itching or foul smell associated with it. Regardless, however, if you're concerned you may want to see a physician and get checked out for any possible infection, including possible stds. I haven't heard of birth control causing a change in the skin color of the vagina.

See your Dr.: Hard to give a specific answer as the pelvic area is actually fairly large with a number of possibilities that may cause swelling. I would recommend seeing your dr. And having a good exam. Impossible to give you a good answer in this kind of forum. Good luck.
