Can you tell me if the hpv virus causes cervical cancer 99% of the time, what causes it the other 1%?

Possibly genes: While nearly all cervical cancers are related to hpv infections, a few patients may have genetic alterations that predispose to cervical cancer. These changes could be inherited. This would be uncommon but possible.
