A few ideas: The bleeding could be from the vagina, or it could be from the uterus. If from the uterus, it could be breakthrough bleeding due to hormonal fluctuations in your cycle. If due to the vagina, or cervix, could be due to to breakage of small blood vessels. An exam by a gynecologist can help diagnose the latter. You mentioned 'a lot' .... So maybe an exam would be a good idea, just to be safe!

Yes: Vaginal bleeding that is unrelated to your period can be related to pregnancy, infection, hormonal problems, cancers or pre-cancers. Obviously, it's not normal. You should see your doctor.

Vaginal bleeding: Bleeding continually for 2 months is abnormal. Bleeding should be cyclic, approximately once a month. There are many causes for this type of bleeding pattern some of which can be serious and need urgent attention. You need to see a gynecologist as soon as you can.

A lot: Postmenopausal bleeding is never normal and she should be seen by her gyn. There is a vast list of reasons. Nevertheless, postmenopausal women should not bleed. Almost always is due to vaginal atrophy. (thinning of vaginal skin with loss of elasticity and lubrication) nevertheless pathological causes need to be rule out.

Bartholin cyst?: It may be that the 2 symptoms are not related. A large lump inside the vagina that feels swollen can sometimes be a Bartholin's cyst (blocked duct causing a cyst to form). The bleeding may be from the uterus, or it could possibly be from the vagina. Regardless, i think you should see a physician for both of these issues.
