Uti: In women utis are common due to the short track of the urethra. To prevent them make sure you drink lots of water. Cranberry pills keep bacteria from sticking to the walls of your bladder - so in some cases taking 2 pills 3 times daily with tons of water can knock an infection out however if your symptoms do not improve you need antibiotics.

Other causes.: The urethra in women is short and bacteria gets into the bladder easily. Wipe from to back, drink fluids to flush out the bladder, void after sex. See your doctor to get a urinalysis and if it shows a UTI you will be prescribed an antibiotic.
