Maybe: Oral herpes is caused by herpes type 1 most commonly. It can be transmitted to the genital region through oral sex. I would say that there would normally be a at least a few days of "incubation" of the virus before you would have symptoms. So i f you had symptoms immediately, then it might be that the virus was already present. Ask him if he has ever had a cold sore.
