Can the herpes virus be shedding from above the top of your vagina, like the triangle where the pubic hair is?

Yes: Herpes simplex virus in the genital area can shed from anywhere in a "bathing trunk" distribution including upper thighs, buttocks and the pubic hair area. To infect another person, the virus must come in contact with a mucous membrane area, like the vagina, penis, or mouth.
