A 27-year-old female asked:
What happens if you don't treat genital herpes? and what test is needed to confirm you have it?

HSV-2: Genital herpes can be diagnosed by a biopsy/culture of a lesion or a simple blood test. If you do not treat it, it may get painful, may worsen, and you certainly would be more at risk of transmitting the infection to others with an active infection. Best wishes.
