No: A lymph node biopsy will be examined under the microscope. We're most concerned with any form of cancer and with some of the distinctive inflammatory diseases that may enlarge a node. Of the common sexually transmitted diseases, only syphilis presents a distinctive appearance here; testing for HIV and mono should precede biopsy. Hpv isn't diagnosed on lymph node biopsy.
