Lymph nodes: This seems to indicate an infective process of some sort. There are also other causes as well. If the lymph nodes are all swollen all over then you must go and see your doctor and get blood tests done.

The testicle itself does not swell in an inguinal hernia. But if the hernia reaches the area it might appear to be swollen.
