Consider OCPs.: Depo-provera is a synthetic, long-acting progestin, designed to strongly interfere with the physiology of the normal menstrual cycle. After one year of use 55% of women stop bleeding, 68% after 2 years. Irregular or unpredictable bleeding or spotting is usual, due to the important thinning of the endometrium (uterine lining). If you wish to have periods, you may switch to a birth control pill.
