Herpes: Every sexually active adult must have the herpes blood tests. Having or not having sores is now known to be meaningless in this question. One can have the infection, be contagious and not have outbreaks. Viral shedding can be a silent risk in those infected with herpes. I would be surprised if your partner knew where they were infected with herpes, but if they do then a simple condom is prote.
