A member asked:

Is there green poop in alcoholism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Chronic alcoholism may cause bleeding in the esophagus or stomach. The extra blood is broken down into bilirubin and excreted by your liver into the intestines as bile which gives your poop the green shade. Sometimes the liver pumps out more bile in response to stress or there could be a dysfunction of the bile duct which empties into your duodenum. Bile helps you digest and absorb fats.
