A member asked:

Is salicylic acid 2% as effective as benzoyl peroxide 5%?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Use as tolerated: Topical benzoyl peroxide 5% or 10% as tolerated is your best bet unless you have a lot of blackheads, in which case a retinoic acid derivative may be best. If you are not clear in two weeks, get with your personal physician who can add something that will work.
