Yes: The main reason for light periods is a change in hormone levels. Causes for what seems to be a light period can include: implantation bleeding in early pregnancy, thyroid problems, eating disorders, excessive exercise, initial periods for a girl, use of an intrauterine device, oral contraceptives & perimenopause.

Good evening, please advise if it is normal for a 29-year-old female to only have her monthly menstruation one day a month. This has been going on for 3 consecutive months.
I had an unprotected relationship on the 3rd of august (more or less 12 weeks ago) and even though I'm on the pill and I take it on time always, I took a one day after pill just in case. My menstruation came on time everytime since (3 times).
Doc can I ask why my menstraction is only one day after two days spotting,and why every month menstruation.
I just have a one day heavy menstruation, followed by a mild vaginal spotting. What freaks me out is that it has a foul smell. Help me pls..
