Bruise: Sometimes after an injury the bruise changes color as it is reabsorbed.. New appearance that appears to be like an acute bruise could be continued damage and more aggressive immobilization may be needed.

Bruising: There is almost always bruising with a fracture anywhere on your body. This is due to internal bleeding, swelling/inflammation. There is an increase in blood flow with any injury, and bruising can occur in the areas where there is a soft tissue injury, contusion, or fracture.
