A member asked:

Is it normal for babies legs to be right red after vaccines?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Local reactions...: Most local swelling, redness and pain at the injection site begins within 24 hours of the shot. It usually lasts 2 to 3 days, but with dtap can last 7 days. This is ok. If redness starts to spread, is large (>1 in), or begins >48 hours after shot, call doc. For more info see: http://www.Seattlechildrens.Org/medical-conditions/symptom-index/immunization-reactions/.
