Please elaborate: Wisdom tooth cavities or extraction sockets after wisdom teeth are extracted? If the former, then get the teeth restored or extracted. If the later, the answer is that it is bad... Do not disturb the healing site with the waterpik.

Yes: A waterpik can dislodge the blood clot within the extraction socket and cause the site to bleed. Furthermore, it can delay the healing as the site would be constantly irritated. Brush gently at the extraction sites and you should be able to use the waterpik after 3-4 weeks.

Yes: You may upset the healing of the clot, leading to dry sockets. Rinsing only at this point- no drinking through a straw though. Follow post-op instructions or call the dentist/oral surgeon's office if additional questions.
