Rarely: It is possible but rare. Gadolinium contrast has been associated with a rare condition called nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, which is essentially damage to the kidneys. The following article may help: nephrogenic systemic fibrosis: risk factors and incidence estimation april 2007 radiology, 243, 148-157.

Rare: Gadolinium has very rarely caused a condition known as "nephrogenic systemic fibrosis" or nsf for short. If you have pre-existing kidney disease then this may be of some concern. Allergic reactions would be the other concern, but those are very rare with gadolinium.
