A member asked:

I took a claritan this am. can i take nyquil tonight?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Claritin (loratadine) apparently is an antihistamine that does not cross the blood brain barrier and should not cause sedation. NyQuil does sedate the brain to help you to sleep. I believe it is perfectly safe to take both because they act on different targets in the body and do not cross-react.
