High acidity or..: alcohol causes more acid to build up in thestomach which can irritate it. Other causes would be pancreatitis, but the pain is usually more than some stomach discomfort. if your pain is excrutiating and travels in a belt like fashion left to right under your rib cage, pancreatitis is a concern and I would suggest going to ER. If not, its high acid. TUMS and Zantac (ranitidine) will help. Avoid drink
