Change in creatine: Creatinine (c) can elevate acutely, in cases of low blood flow to the kidney, dehydration, obstruction to urine outflow and agents toxic to the kidney. When these issues are resolved, it can go down quickly as well. Renal diseases such as diabetes and glomerulonepritis (g) can elevate the c more slowly. Once the c is elevated in diabetes, it will not come down. If the g is treated, c can go down.
