How long will it take for split skin on your perineum to heal?

A week: Generally these sores heal in a few days, but it can take up to a week to heal depending on where the skin split is.

Wound care: Keeping the wound clean and then lightly moistened will generally expedite healing. Avoid abrading the area. Sitz baths are often recommended but are not necessary. A gentle shower head spray works as well. Mild soaps such as cetaphil with restoraderm work well followed by aquaphor ointment perfomred 3 times a day.
