A member asked:

Hole near tailbone baby is it normal?

No. Have it checked: out by the Pediatrician and even a Spinal surgeon, should the Pediatrician feel it necessary. If the hole is not deep and there are no other symptoms affecting the legs or feet, and he is developing normally, then nothing more is needed.

There is a : big difference between a " hole" and a sacral dimple! A hole with drainage and / or other deformities definitely need further testing and referral to neurosurgeon whereas , a sacral dimple is just a dimple. No further action needed unless, it starts to drain! Talk to your pediatrician about it .

It needs to be: evaluated by your pediatrician. It may turn out to be nothing of concern, but sometimes could be a sign of a spinal anomaly.
