Yes.: If you have chron's disease, a chronic disease of the intestine, you may also have anxiety or depression. Assuming you are in treatment with a gastro-enterologist for your chron's, then a consultation with a psychiatrist for other symptoms might be indicated. I can't think of a down side to a one time appointment.

Mind-body connection: There's no real separation between mind and body, even though our culture seems to act like there is. Chronic physical illnesses have emotional effects, and emotions affect the body too. An example: blushing! in the case of crohns, personal stresses can exacerbate this -- and it's important to learn your triggers ; how to deal with them. Pick a psychiatrist whose practice includes psychotherapy.
