Not recommended: Natural does not always equal safe. There are limited studies on melatonin use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Some animal studies indicate a possible link between high dose melatonin use and developmental disorders. Avoid until there is scientific evidence indicating safety.

Not recommended: Melatonin is not categorized by the fda and so currently has no such listing, but studies have shown that high level of melatonin during pregnancy may increase of developmental disorders. As a result, it is not advisable to take during pregnancy. If you have much problems with insomnia, please consult doc for eval/treatment. Good luck.
