I can't tast much for over a week. was taking prilosec and xanax (alprazolam) have stopped both. my symptoms are throat tightness and pain, gerd. no cold.

Never stop your meds: Never stop your meds w/u consulting your dr. First.Especially something like xanax (alprazolam) where you can experience withdrawl sx even seizures. Call your dr. Asap. Smoking can cause loss of taste. Ask dr. About seeing a specialist if he/she cannot help.Dentist, ENT ? But i think the smoking is the problem perhaps along with alcohol.Later and xanax (alprazolam) not good anyway! also therapy not psych meds!good GI w/u.
