Varies: Thankfully a bruise to the meniscus will usually heal and do fine as opposed to a tear which might not heal without surgery. During the healing process there can often be variable degrees of swelling and pain depending the severity of the injury. The symptoms may be aggravated by a lot of running and cutting as done in soccer. Each individual is different and so the recovery can vary, thankyou.

Should do quite well: Bruised meniscus without an unstable tear should heal and he should well for a long time.
