What is endometrial pathology?

Lining of uterus: The endometrium is the lining of the uterus that changes throughout the menstrual cycle to prepare for the possibility of a pregnancy. Pathology means "the study of disease", so endometrial pathology could refer to any abnormality of the endometrium. When a sample is taken from the endometrium by biopsy or curettage, the specimen is examined by a pathologist for cancer or other changes.

Endometrium: The endometrium is the lining inside the uterus. So endometrial pathology refers to any abnormality involving this lining. Examples include endometritis (inflammation of the lining), endometrial polyps (benign growths), endometrial hyperplasia (thickening and abnormal proliferation of the lining) and endometrial cancer, to name a few.
