Unfortunately, knock knees (aka valgus knees) and bowlegged knees (aka varus knees) overloads the lateral side (outside) and the medial side (inside), respectively. This overload can cause early wear of the cartilage as well as causing dysfunction of the patellofemoral joint (kneecap).
