Mono: Five to seven days should be sufficient.

Depends on variables: Some who have mono are never symptomatic, while others are bedridden for 3 weeks or more. It is spread by salivary secretions and most older kids who practice good hygiene are not likely to spread it to others except through direct oral contact. If a kid feels well enough to sit through classes and learn, s/he can usually return to class, although a few half days are a good starting point.

Simple ,read below: You can go back to school or work when you feel better. But you may need to avoid sports or other physical activities for at least a month. That's because mono can cause one of the organs in your body to become bigger than it should be.You will probably start to feel better in 1 to 2 weeks. But it can be a month or more before you get back to normal. Most people get over mono with no lasting prob.

2 Things to consider: As long as they have a fever then they are contagious for sure and should stay home. If the fever is gone, then it depends on how well they will tolerate school, sitting up all day in class. If they can't tolerate that, then you might have to work up to it, starting with a couple of hours and expanding the time over weeks. Restrict sports that involve physical contact until the spleen is small.
