Infectious Mono: A child can return to normal activiteis when they are free of fever, have resolved symptoms such as sore throat and fatigue and have resolved splenomegaly (if that was present at DX or on follow-up). There is no commercially available test to confirm the cessation of shedding of the causative eb virus. This virus is known to persist in saliva for weeks to months after resolution of other symptoms.
