Suprachiasmatic nucl: The suprachiasmatic nucleus in the hypothalamus regulates circadian rhythm in mammals. The scn receives information about light and dark from special cells in the retina. The scn then communicates with the pineal gland, which secretes melatonin, which helps to regulate sleep. Thus, being on an electronic device at all hours or having the tv late can disrupt sleep.
