A member asked:

75 y/o male with history of stroke has sudden change of personality (starts drinking, becomes hostile and violent). could mini strokes be the cause?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely correct: Sounds like a dementia of vascular origin, and indeed, a series of lacunar strokes could create this outcome, but could also be due to a medication reaction. See a neurologist and get started to evaluate and treat. (incidentally, you listed your issues, and might help to describe his more fully)
