Depends: I recommend a broad-spectrum sunscreen offering protection against both uva and uvb rays. Usually, at least three active ingredients are called for. These generally include paba derivatives, salicylates, and/or cinnamates for uvb absorption; benzophenones for shorter-wavelength uva protection; and avobenzone, ecamsule, and titanium dioxide, or zinc oxide for the remaining uva spectrum.

If sun exposure is a trigger, then try protecting yourself from the sun or avoiding direct sun exposure. Some sunscreens can cause plugging of the pores and exacerbate the condition. Try different brands, zinc oxide provides best protection. Wear hat, stay in shade. Avoid peak hours 10 am to 4 pm.
