Staph infection: "staph" is what i think you're asking about? This is short for staphylococcus, a type of round bacterium. There are several different kinds, and they can grow almost anywhere in the body.

Staphylococcus: Is a common skin bacteria. One particular variety: staph. Aureus, can cause skin infections, pneumonia, toxic shock syndrome, food poisoning and blood poisoning following exposure. Best to practice good hand washing and wound cleansing. Beware: though most easy to treat, certain strains are resistant to antibiotics and very dangerous.. You can google for photos of skin lesions. See: impetigo.
