Am headaches: Hello, it may be worth an evaluation with a chiropractor to see if he/her may be of help. A neck examination with adjustment and exercise program sounds like a good idea. As for your sleep positions, there are conditions such as sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome that could be occurring. Sleep apnea leads to headaches too. Your doctor could order testing if needed.

Use a pillow: The best position for neck pain is on your side, with one or two pillows under your head, and another pillow in front of you. The pillow in front of you is positioned similarly to how you would cuddle with a loved one. That pillow prevents you from falling forward and twisting your neck into an awkward position. Some people find placing a pillow between their legs helps with this as well.

See physiatrist: A physiatrist can help determine if there is an underlying cause (other than just plain sleeping mechanics) leading to the cause of your symptoms. Sometimes treatment for the tight muscles is all that is needed. A physical therapist can make recommendations for the right set up for you, based on your physical structure.
