Stage iv nsclc squamous - non operable but currently being treated with navelbine (vinorelbine) and cistplatin. the stage is t3n3 m1b - what are the survival stats?

Treatment is to : Relieve symptoms, possibly extend survival, but no cures. Median survivals 8 - 12 months, which mean half die before that, half beyond that. Those that respond seem to live longer, not necessarily because of the treatment. Integrating symptom management helps you feel better, no harm to survival.

Not good: While survival is related to the response to the chemotherapy, survival with advanced stage lung cancer is not good. Over half have died by 8 months, and at 5 years fewer than 10% are alive. Individual response varies, and these are statistics...Remember, people are not "numbers." i hope this helps.
