Encopresis: Encopresis results in stool backup behind the very hard and obstructing stool. Sometimes liquid or soft stool will "leak around the hard stool obstruction" giving the stool output that you describe. Treatment is disimpaction with enemas followed by stool softeners to prevent new imaction from occurring.
