Depends: Under local only, many people have one side worked on at a time to preserve an unaffected side of their mouth for chewing. Others only want to go through the experience one time and opt to get it all done at once. The latter strategy makes more sense if IV sedation or general anesthesia is used but it is really up to you unless your particular medical or surgical considerations dictate otherwise.

Not wise: It's possible with an oral surgeon but all 4 is best under general anesthesia by an oral surgeon. Less pain and discomfort.
