Yes: Yes, assuming your child is otherwise healthy enough to undergo this type of surgery. This is typically the first line treatment, especially if symptomatic, and while there are risks with any surgery it is relatively safe.

Yes: It is actually known as catheter ablation. Catheter ablation has very little risk when performed by an experienced cardiologist. The ablation procedure provides a cure over 95% of the time and can be performed without significantly increased risk in children as young as five years. Recovery is quick with most patients returning to full activity in a few days.
