Yes, see below: Mcas is diagnosed by: 1) symptoms of mast cell mediator release, 2) decrease or resolution of symptoms with therapy, 3) elevation of mast cell mediators above baseline during an episode (tryptase or urine histamine or prostaglandin), 4) systemic mastocytosis or monoclonal mcas (mmas) has been ruled out. Complex: First you must have an elevated baseline tryptase level along with symptoms. Then you will need a bone marrow biopsy to determine what type of mast cell disorders you may have since they all behave the same way.
